Ah, the warm fuzzies

From what I remember, last night's party and numist's was the epitome of excellent (as per usual). Hitched a ride with jauricch1o (which involved trekking across the canyon in the dark) and arrived 7ish to find a large crowd sitting around watching battlestar galactica and numist running back and forth to his neighbor's barbeque. The Started the evening by not watching battlestar galactica but instead sitting down to fiddle with my laptop and see how well I could utilize iMovie to begin my plans for WORLD DOMINATION.. wait, no.. glassblowing short movies. That other things is for.. um.. -shifty look- a story.. for a class... yes. Well anyway, got the vid to an acceptable state and met some people as they came in. It was a sizeable group! numist, ozzloy, krelbel (and kelsey), happysushi, jess, jauricch1o, h3h, DJCapelis, altoid, Vivien, Ryan, Eric, and Mike. (If you were there and aren't on this list, I'm very sorry... and I blame it on the vodka, the sweet, delicious vodka -huggles the vodka-)
So, anyway, dinner was served after we finished watching the pilot (so around 10. the burgers were realllly thick) and involved effort to eat (reaaaalllllllly thick). Poor joe, who had piled his high with things, stretched his jaw too wide the first time and made it hurt for a little while. But, delicious burgers and lots of tasty drinks. I was just having a mike's lemonade but then krel came back with a can of mountain dew that he had apparently spiked. DJCapelis and numist had a taste and both got pretty buzzed off it though krel claimed it was half mountain dew and half vodka. I immediately requested that he make me one, as did numist, got fresh cans of mountain dew and instructions to drink as much of the dew that we wanted to be replaced with whiskey. I asked for vodka and it was delicious. Finished off numist's too (was tasting it. I think it tasted like the candy flavor sour apple, so good) Mine was primarily composed of vodka, so was pretty warm and fuzzy by then.
Not quite sure what happened after that.. I think it was sitting and talking at the table about coding things (which means I was smiling and nodding and laughing at the appropriate parts, as indicated by everyone else laughing) Let it never be said that I am slow on the uptake. I can fake understanding of most anything in social situations so that I don't detract from conversation. At some point joe provided me with a screwdriver, which was as delicious as everything else.
I attribute the speed to which I got drunk to the fact that, apart from the burger, I hadn't eaten much of anything that day.. I mean had some chicken strips for lunch, but that had been about 9 hours before.. Also I had gotten about two hours of sleep that night, so was already a little out of it
Eventually we started watching firefly, which was as awesome as ever. Got some berry juice spilled on my pants, which will probably have a stain now, despite numist's efforts with resolve and a paper towel (which led to me saying that numist had wet my pants, which I thought was pretty funny) At some point I got a half shot of sake from.. DJ? I can't remember who gave me the first one.. then got another (this was probably around 1 or 2, have no idea though)
things continued happening. At some point numist stole one of my socks and threw it over the couch. Didn't trust myself to get that far even though my foot was cold. At some point I stole the maverick and then krel wanted it. He tried a few tactics for getting me out of it, and I agreed to surrender it if he would get my sock. So, I got my sock back! I think krel asked me to grab the sake from behind numist, who was sitting at the table near me and had a half bottle of sake on the table behind him. I anaged to snag it and krel said he'd drink some if I would, so I took a swig and tried to hand it to him. He said I needed to have more and I think he did that a couple more times after that before I realized he wasn't drinking any and handed it to him. Watched the rest of firefly from varying positions in the room. Was threatening and poking people with a hammer a few times... protecting the couch I think, or other things.. don't remember very well.. and that's the sign of a fun night I'm sure. It ended around 6:30 after all the Firefly episodes, and I was still kinda drunk, which became apparent when i was helping to clean up, bent down to pick something up, and the room started moving again. After that I sat down and stayed out of the way. Got home around 7, crawled into bed, and didn't wake up until about an hour ago (at 5:30 pm)
There's probably a new list of funny things I said while drunk, and I look forward to hearing and laughing at them.
